An Overview of Magneto-Electric Dipole Antenna Feed Design

In this paper , an overview of various feed design techniques of Magneto- Electric dipole antenna has been analyzed and stated. Also it has been observed that with change in feeding design , the impedance bandwidth also varies. Different feeding pattern can change the impedance bandwidth from 25.5% to 114%, with stable gain and radiation pattern.

Design of a Modified Braking System Mechanism for Two Wheeler Vehicles to Increase Safety of the Rider

The present disclosure relates generally to a braking system for a two-wheeler vehicle that enables linkage between the front and rear brakes to help attain a safe braking ratio under all circumstances. In an aspect, the present disclosure provides a mechanical linkage between front and the rear brakes of a two-wheeler vehicle, wherein the linkage can be installed without removing any component of existing braking systems/architectures, and wherein the linkage can enable automatic application of brake on a second brake when brake is applied on a first brake. For instance, when front brake (for the front wheel, for instance) is applied, automatic and ideal proportional brake can be automatically applied to the rear brake (for the rear wheel, for instance), and vise versa.

Comparative Pressure Drop in Laminar and Turbulent Flows in Circular Pipe with and without Baffles using FEV

The study of Turbulent flow characteristics in complex geometries receives considerable attention due to its Importance in many engineering applications and has been the subject of interest for researchers. Some of these include the energy conversion systems found in same design of heat exchangers, nuclear reactor, solar collectors & cooling of industrial machines and electronic components. Flow in channels with baffle plates occurs in many industrial applications such as heat exchangers, filtration, chemical reactors, and desalination. These baffles cause turbulence which leads to increases friction within the pipe or duct and leads significant pressure drop.
This work is concern with the comparative flow and pressure distribution analysis of a smooth and segmented Baffles pipe. In which pressure drop during the flow is examined and with the help of hydrodynamic characteristics performance is predicted with the help of Finite element volume tool ANSYS- Fluent, where simulation is been done. The goal is to carry out evaluating pressure drop across the pipe using different turbulent model and at simulation is done for wide range of Reynolds number in both laminar and turbulent flow regimes. The FEV results are validated with well published results in literature and furthermore with experimentation. The FEV and experimental results show good agreement.

Hybrid Algorithmic Approach for Medical Image Compression Based on Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Huffman Techniques for Cloud Computing

As medical imaging facilities move towards complete filmless imaging and also generate a large volume of image data through various advance medical modalities, the ability to store, share and transfer images on a cloud-based system is essential for maximizing efficiencies. The major issue that arises in teleradiology is the difficulty of transmitting large volume of medical data with relatively low bandwidth. Image compression techniques have increased the viability by reducing the bandwidth requirement and cost-effective delivery of medical images for primary diagnosis.Wavelet transformation is widely used in the fields of image compression because they allow analysis of images at various levels of resolution and good characteristics. The algorithm what is discussed in this paper employs wavelet toolbox of MATLAB. Multilevel decomposition of the original image is performed by using Haar wavelet transform and then image is quantified and coded based on Huffman technique. The wavelet packet has been applied for reconstruction of the compressed image. The simulation results show that the algorithm has excellent effects in the image reconstruction and better compression ratio and also study shows that valuable in medical image compression on cloud platform

Palm Print Recognition Using Curve let Transform

In the era of Information Technology, openness of the information is a major concern. As the confidentiality and integrity of the information is critically important, it has to be secured from unauthorized access. Traditional security and identification are not sufficient enough; people need to find a new authentic system based on behavioral & physiological characteristics of person which is called as Biometric. Palm print recognition gives several advantages over the other biometrics such as low resolution, low cost, non-intrusiveness and stable structure features. Now a days Palm print based personal verification system is used in many security application due to its ease of acquisition, high user acceptance and reliability. Various approaches which deal with palm recognition are texture approach, line approach and appearance approach. By using texture approach it is possible to obtain texture sample with low resolution and texture is much more stable as compare to line and appearance. This paper is aimed to analyze the performance of palm print recognition systems using Curvelet features and for dimension reduction PCA is used.

Enhancing Underwater Gray Scale Images Using a Hybrid Approach of Filtering and Stretching Technique

Underwater image processing has received more attention from last few decades, underwater image quality is affected by several factors such as light attenuation, scattering, refraction, turbidity etc. because of this effect non uniform illumination, low contrast and blurring effect will arise in underwater images. The algorithm used in this paper uses both stretching and filtering technique to enhance the quality of underwater images and has been succeeded in correcting non uniform illumination, reduces noise and enhancing contrast. Here it uses histogram equalization and contrast stretching for enhancing the contrast, it uses a Homomorphic filter for uniform illumination and reduce Gaussian blur, wavelets are used for reducing Gaussian and salt and pepper noises, Anisotropic filtering is used for enhancing foreground(edges) and acts as low pass filter for background.
Simulation is carried out using MATLAB (R2010b), visual quality and PSNR shows the improvement in quality of underwater images.

Network Selection and seamless mobility in Heterogeneous Wireless Network Based on Type of User Preference

The trending factor for next generation wireless networks will be heterogeneity of access networks, various networks are brought together to form an heterogeneous wireless network environment. Mobile users are now equipped with multimode capabilities that has the ability to select more than one type of network. In such type of heterogeneous network the mobile users may be having more than one access point to select for seamless service delivery and service continuity across the network environment. Selecting the optimal network among available networks and seamless mobility is a challenging task. Therefore a selection method is required that can facilitate seamless handoff between heterogeneous wireless access networks and selects
the optimal among them.
The proposed system architecture explicitly takes into account the user preference and context data for selection of optimal network. The system is based on IEEE 802.21 MIH (media independent handoff) framework. It best meets the need of user and ensures the selection of optimal network to perform handoff in heterogeneous wireless network environment.

Satellite Image Fusion in Various Domains

In order to find out the fusion algorithm which is best suited for the panchromatic and multispectral images, fusion algorithms, such as PCA and wavelet algorithms have been employed and analyzed. In this paper, performance evaluation criteria are also used for quantitative assessment of the fusion performance. The spectral quality of fused images is evaluated by the ERGAS and Q4. The analysis indicates that the DWT fusion scheme has the best definition as well as spectral fidelity, and has better performance with regard to the high textural information absorption. Therefore, as the study area is concerned, it is most suited for the panchromatic and multispectral image fusion. an image fusion algorithm based on wavelet transform is proposed for Multispectral and panchromatic satellite image by using fusion in spatial and transform domains. In the proposed scheme, the images to be processed are decomposed into sub-images with the same resolution at same levels and different resolution at different levels and then the information fusion is performed using high-frequency sub-images under the Multi-resolution image fusion scheme based on wavelets produces better fused image than that by the MS or WA schemes.
