Voltage profile Improvement Using Static Synchronous Compensator STATCOM

Static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) is a regulating device used in AC transmission systems as a source or a sink of reactive power. The most widely utilization of the STATCOM is in enhancing the voltage stability of the transmission line. A voltage regulator is a FACTs device used to adjust the voltage disturbance by injecting a controllable voltage into the system. This paper implement Nruro-Fuzzy controller to control the STATCOM to improve the voltage profile of the power network. The STATCOM controller has simulated for some types of abnormal conditions. The simulation results show improves the system voltage profile. The performance of compensator with its new controller was very close to the nominal value, which was 98% of the busbar voltage.

Host specificity, mycorrhizal compatibility and genetic variability of Pisolithus tinctorius

The reaction between the various hosts with Pisolithus tinctorius shows the broad host range of this fungal species showing different degrees of host compatibility. There is wide variation in both rate and extent of ECM formation by different isolates of Pisolithus tinctorius of different geographical regions within a species. Thus Pisolithus tinctorius displays much intraspecific heterogeneity of host specificity and interspecific compatibility. There are variable degrees of plant-fungal isolate compatibility, implying specificity, and this is an important factor influencing successful ectomycorrhiza formation and development. The molecular data also suggested that the Pisolithus tinctorius isolates analyzed from different geographical regions belong to distinct groups. Further studies are therefore warranted to elucidate the molecular, biochemical and physiological differences between the Pisolithus tinctorius isolates at the fungus-root interface of different plant species.

We have done mapped earthquake-prone zonation of North Bengkulu, Indonesia, based on peak ground acceleration by kanai’s and Katayama’s formula. Twenty nine microtremor data have recorded by Digital portable Seismometer that installed in North Bengkulu regency. The result of HVSR analysis, we got resonance frequency and A0 which explained the condition of surface rocks. Peak ground acceleration on rock surface which applied local geology condition (dominant period of natural soil vibration). Based on A0 value, the risk of earthquakes in north Bengkulu was on moderate to high level because this area has relatively soft rock structure. Kanai's formula has correlation near 70.6% with Katayama's formula to showed PGA value on rock surface. Peak Ground acceleration of Kanai formula in North Bengkulu about 152,441 - 674,391 gal and based on Katayama formula between 35.2 gal until 51.3 gal. Based on PGA value, we estimated that North Bengkulu has on IV and IX of MMI scales. It meant that in North Bengkulu potential have heavy damage when an earthquake occurred.
Decision Making in Optimizing a Product of a Small Scale Industry: A Bayesian Analysis Approach

This paper intends to find Expected monetary value (EMV), Expected opportunity loss (EOL) and conditional profit of the main product (Mukta) of a small scale industry–“ORGAMAN” situated at Jorhat District of Assam. To meet the above specific objectives, the method of Bayesian Analysis has been adopted. The data used in this endeavor is secondary in nature, collected by direct personal investigation. As per prior information, the target of the industry is to produce a minimum of 50 MT (low production) of product and a maximum of 350 MT (high production) of the same per month. The prior analysis reveals that the expected monetary value and expected opportunity loss are optimum against high production. Based on both the prior analysis and posterior analysis, it is observed that the profit for the product of the industry is maximum against high production of 350 MT per month. Although, the profit based on posterior analysis is slightly high, it seems that the additional amount of money has to be spend to collect additional information for posterior analysis.

A Novel Approach for Eye Tracking using Driver Fatigue Monitoring

System describes a real-time online trial product driver-fatigue monitor or driver tiredness is captured. It means to capture the current state or mode of tiredness of driver whether the driver is in sleeping state or in wakening state. It uses remotely located charge-coupled-device cameras able to with active infrared illumination to acquire video images of the driver. Various cues that typically stated the level of attentiveness of a person that how an person is attentive are removed or take out in real time and systematic combined to infer the tiredness level of the driver. The some cues employed stated eyelid movement, steady movement, head movement, and facial expression. This is developed to model human fatigue and to know about fatigue based on the visual cues obtained. The simultaneous use of multiple optical cues and their methodical combination yields a much more robust and accurate fatigue categorization than using a single visual cue. This system was valid as real-life fatigue conditions with human subjects of different cultural backgrounds, genders, and ages as with or without glasses, and under different illumination conditions. It was found to be sensibly robust, reliable, and accurate in fatigue categorization.

TCP for Wireless Environments

Computer networks have experienced an explosive growth over the past few years, which has lead to some severe congestion problems. Reliable protocols like TCP works well in wired networks where loss occurs mostly because of congestion. However, in wireless networks, loss occurs because of bit rates and handoffs too. TCP responds all losses by congestion control and avoidance algorithms, which results in degradation of TCP’s End-To-End performance in wireless networks. This paper discusses different issues and problems regarding use of TCP in wireless networks and provides comprehensive survey of various schemes to improve performance of TCP in Wireless Networks.

Financial Assessment Considered Weighting Factor Scenarios for the Optimal Combination of Power Plants on the Power System Operation

This paper presents an application of the novel evolutionary algorithm for assessing financially an economic power system operation throughout a combined economic and emission dispatch problem required by various technical limitations. In detail, this problem considers two dispatches for fuel and environmental aspects as a constrained objective function associated with weighting factor scenarios. Running out simulations show that minimum costs are depended on weighting factors, which implemented on the combination of the problem. Reducing the total fuel cost focused on the dispatching priority and the pollutant target based on the emission production have difference implications as its contribution to the economic operation, the increasing load demand leads to generated powers, costs and emission discharges associated with its parameters and power schedules.

Pattern of changes in the amino acid levels in silk gland of silkworm, Bombyx mori L.treated with Indole-3-acetic acid ( IAA)

The administration of IAA on the total proteins, protease activity, free amino acids, alanine amino transferase (ALAT) activity and aspartate amino transferase (AAT) activity were studied. The increase of total protein content in silk gland may be either due to increased efflux or decreased proteolysis activity which might lead to accumulation of protein content. The decrease in protease activity level in silk gland may be due to lower rate of histolysis. The decrease in the free amino acid content indicates the faster mobilization of free amino acids into oxidative metabolism in the presence of IAA. The ALAT and AAT activity levels were elevated after treatment indicating the active involvement in the protein synthesis.
