Instant Message Transfer between Two Smart Phones Using Wi-Fi

Instant messaging has been widely used with the power of internet; people can use a message& talk to family, friends and co-workers. In the company, colleagues can send and reply instant message in real time without face to face; meanwhile the work report can be shared during the instant chat session. People can message to multiple people in the virtual share ideas and get conclusions. What’s more, the staff can talk to customers or vendors online as well, in other word, now people can do business through the instant messenger direct rather than use the traditional method like make phone calls. The use of instant messaging nowadays is more than the calling function itself. The main objective of this paper is to introduce a methodology to provide instant Messaging Service over the android based smart phone users connected over via Wi-Fi. The proposed method is based on sending/receiving messages via Wi-Fi connection with the support of client –server programming without taking any service from mobile service provider and without the use of internet connection.

Conflicts among Street Children and their Parents: Incidence and Consequences

Street children by the nature of their work and lives are on their own largely unprotected by adults, and become vulnerable to many dangers and conflict at home and their workplace. This paper explores and analyses the various situations of conflicts and the reactions exhibited by street children after having conflict with their parents. The study was carried on 160 street children (9-12 years) equally distributed over gender. Data were collected by administering a Self-structured Interview Schedule to study the situations of conflict, consequences of conflicts, behavior and reactions exhibited by children after having conflict. Results revealed that children perceived parents as a fearful figure. A higher proportion of street children (56.87%) cited disobeying parents was the major cause of conflict with their parents and as a reaction a higher proportion of them (45.00%) started crying after having disturbing situations. More number of boys become indifferent, go to work as usual, reacted back verbally, becomes aggressive and think of running away whenever they had conflict with their parents while majority of the girls reported of seeking sympathy from friends/other family members, missing work on the particular day or crying for hours at end.

Functionalized Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotube-Reinforced Epoxy-Composites: Electrical And Mechanical Characterization

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) got great attention because of their interesting physical and mechanical properties. Due to these interesting properties observed at the nanoscale have motivated scientific community to utilize CNTs as reinforcement in composite materials. In the present study, different CNTs and epoxy nano-composites with different wt% (1, 2, 3, and 4%) of f-MWCNTs were prepared and their surface morphology and orientation has been investigated in detail. Further, the surface investigation, electrical and mechanical tests were carried out on CNTs-filled and unfilled epoxy at maximum sonication time 30 minute to identify the loading effect on the properties of the materials. Experimental results depicts well dispersion of f-MWCNTs, significant improvement that the resistivity of pure epoxy decreased from 108 .m to average value 103 .m with 1, 2, 3, and 4wt% f-MWCNTs. The 4.5wt% CNTs/epoxy was attributed to poor dispersion of f-MWCNTs in the nanocomposte. The hardness of nanocomposite loading 1, 2, 3, 4wt% of CNTs, increased 20.7%, 23.02%, 25.62%, 29.09% respectively as compared to pure epoxy. We believe that our strategy for obtaining CNT–reinforced epoxy nanocomposites is a very promising technology and will open a new doors in fields of aviation, aerospace, marine and sporting goods.

The Effect of Independent Directors on Corporate Governance: Using Association Rules of Data Mining Techniques

The literature on corporate governance and various codes emphasis that the Board of directors should provide direction to the company, evaluate and approve strategies, appoint and remove the chief executive officer and decide the compensation for him and other members of the top management. While an Independent Director should focus on the adequacy and effectiveness of the internal control and risk management systems, they are expected to protect the interest of non-controlling shareholders, should be watchful to identify weaknesses and should act tough only when required. Despite Enron, World Com and Satyam’s Boards having many Independent Directors, their presence could not avert the major corporate disasters. The challenges of Independent Directors are many folds and growing day by day. The government expects Independent Directors to bring an independent judgment to bear on the Board’s deliberations especially on the issue of strategy, performance; risk management, resources, key appointments and standards of conduct and bring an objective view in the evaluation of performance of Board and management. The public outrage in many corporate failures suggests that there is a huge expectation gap between what Independent Directors can do and what stakeholders expect to do. This gap is created because all the stakeholders have hyped the role of Independent Directors under the code of corporate governance. In order to be effective, they need to understand they can effectively protect the interest of non-controlling shareholders even when the Board is devoid of certain critical responsibilities. This paper attempts to find out "the ultimate measure of Independent Directors not where they stand in moments of comfort, but where they actually stand and should stand at the time of challenges and controversy."

Social Networking Individual vs. Crowd Behavior (Connected Intelligence)

The study of Human behavior is much more complicated in various situations, especially on the spectrum of Social Networks. The study of individual behavior cannot be replicated for a group/crowd behavior which can have many social and behavioral dimensions. In the connected world where intelligence is shared among individuals and groups, there exists another kind of complexity which needs to be examined. The complexity of human behaviors as an individual or as a group on the social networks is much more versatile and erratic. The research work studies and analyzes these behaviors in a connected networked intelligent environment and as to how these behaviors are reflected towards Connected Intelligence. Consequently it defines how they can affect the intelligent analytical outcomes. Finally it comes up with a generic model which can be applied in any setup.

The Relationship between Job Burnout, Organizational Citizenship Behavior, and Staff Performance in State Tax Organization

Organizational citizenship behaviors refer to optional behaviors which are not clearly defined by the organization’s official reward system. Overall, these behaviors improve the organization’s performance. Job burnout is on the other hand a psychological response to the mental pressures of a job, which includes three components of emotional burnout, depersonalization, and perceptions regarding self-inefficacy. Organizational citizenship behavior has a positive effect on organizational performance while job burnout has a negative effect on organizational performance. Accordingly, the current study evaluates the roles organizational citizenship behaviors and job burnout play in the occupational performance of the employees. The current study is a descriptive survey. In order to realize the objectives of the study, a sample of 311 participants among the staff members of the country’s State Tax Organization has been selected. A questionnaire was used for gathering the required data. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire were confirmed using Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient and confirmatory factor analysis. In order to analyze the obtained data structural equation modeling (SEM) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were utilized.
An Efficient Approach for Co-Extracting Opinion Targets Based on Online Reviews Using Supervised Word Alignment Model

Mining opinion targets and opinion words from on-line reviews square measure vital tasks for fine-grained opinion mining, the key part of that involves detective work opinion relations among words. We propose An Efficient Approach for Co-Extracting Opinion Targets in Online Reviews Based on Supervised Word-Alignment Model it is a unique approach supported the fully-supervised alignment model that regards distinctive opinion relations as an alignment method. Then, a graph-based Re-ranking algorithmic rule is exploited to estimate the boldness of every candidate. This Re-ranking algorithm is used to achieve the better results from co-extracting word alignment model. Finally, candidates with higher confidence area unit extracted as opinion targets or opinion words. Compared to previous ways supported the nearest-neighbor rules, our model captures opinion relations a lot of exactly, particularly for long-span relations. Compared to syntax-based ways, our word alignment model effectively alleviates the negative effects of parsing errors once managing informal on-line texts. In explicit, compared to the normal unsupervised alignment model, the planned model obtains higher exactness attributable to the usage of fully oversight. Additionally, once estimating candidate confidence, we have a tendency to punish higher-degree vertices in our graph-based Re-ranking algorithmic rule to decrease the likelihood of error generation. Our experimental results on 3 corpora with completely different sizes and languages show that our approach effectively outperforms progressive ways.

Development of Computational Model to Predict Rut Formation using GIS for Planning of Wood Harvesting on Drained Peat lands

Modern computerized planning systems are necessary for wood procurement of forest industry in the near future. The purpose of this study was to examine if planning of wood harvesting from peat land thinning could be digitized by GIS, when the success criterion is a rut formation in stands caused by harvesting machinery: 1) a maximum rut depth and/or 2) the percentage of formatted rut of total strip road length. The aim was to develop the computational model of rut formation for stand selection in summertime harvesting. The variables of the model described harvesting conditions, which are usually measured using field measurements. It was also aimed that this manual work could be replaced by utilizing digitized geographical information. To perform the study, harvesting conditions, as well as harvesting results including the rut formation were collected in each stand. The forwarding distance, thickness of peat layer and a depth to the groundwater table had a significant effect on the rut formation. Furthermore, the carrying capacity class of harvesting machinery, the quality of brush mat, trees’ stumps, and bends on strip road network contributed to the depth of ruts. The rut formation was correlated witha laser pulse density returning from the vegetation (2×2 m raster)and the ground height model (2×2 m) produced by an airborne laser scanning. The height information and the groundwater data were combined as a new independent variable, because the model of maximum rut depth was statistically more significant and, consequently, the stand selection was more reliable. However, on the basis of the study results, the use of airborne laser scanning for digitization of enterprise resource planning systems requires manual support of the field measurements for reliable wood harvesting operations of peat land thinnings. Even with decision support of manual field measurements 14% of stand selections would have been wrong. Besides, harvesting machinery with a low nominal ground pressure (

However, an effective partnering between companies and their suppliers remains a key to lean supply chain management excel-lence. A lean supply chain offers competitive advantage to the suppliers, therefore the need for the Nigerian mar-ket to embrace the idea of lean based supply chain system. This paper examines the prospects of transforming from the traditional supply chain system to a lean supply chain system in Nigeria. But it is noted that the process could be tasking. It was observed that to succeed in lean supply chain management, organizations must be willing to share risks and rewards, and to build the underlying infrastructure to apply these tools. In this paper it was resounded that the rewards could be in-flaming as various benefits such as a stronger costumer, supplier relationship, increased competitive advantage with velocity of supply etc, applies. It is concluded that, to the Nigerian economy it will be increased cash flow from the costumers and increased market forces.

Osmotic Dehydration as a Tool for Insdustrialization of Jabuticaba Peel (Myrciaria jabuticaba)

This study evaluated the osmotic dehydration of jabuticaba peel for use as a by-product, with development of new food products. Response surface methodology was used, considering temperature and sucrose concentration as independent variables, assessing their effects on water loss, solid gain, mass loss, and solid gain rate. Sucrose concentration had a greater influence on osmotic process. Temperature increase is necessary in osmotic dehydration, once it leads to tissue softening, which is essential for dehydration of jabuticaba peel. Therefore, the best osmotic dehydration conditions were set at 60°C and 70 °Brix. With respect to the physicochemical characterization of the bioactive compounds of dehydrated jabuticaba peel, considerable amounts of sugars, anthocyanins, and phenolic compounds were observed, besides the antioxidant potential. Thus, dehydration of jabuticaba peel is a viable alternative to minimize the waste generated during harvest, being a product with high nutritional value.

A Study Focus on Concrete Replacing LD Slag as Fine Aggregate

Concrete is a composite material composed of fine and coarse granular aggregate (which acts as a filler material) embedded in a hard matrix of cement (which acts as binder) that fills the space among the aggregate particles and glue them together.
The main constituents being cement, fine aggregate (river sand), coarse aggregate and water. The increase in cement production and its usage and also its impact on the environment is addressed widely throughout the world in recent years, which gave light to researches to use alternative materials to cement such as fly ash, silica fume, ggbs etc. But now the focus is also on the increase in demand of the other constituent materials of concrete such as fine and coarse aggregate. Following the same lines of research and in a verge to find a new alternative material for river sand which is available in sufficient quantity in India and other countries also as a potential to be use as sand in concrete as resulted in using LD slag ( granulated blast furnace slag) as a fine aggregate in concrete.

Intrusiveness of Outdoor Advertising and Visual Information

The placement of outdoor advertising is a crucial task where people identify those are as intrusive elements of the built environment. Thus, there is a need of finding, why outdoor advertisements are considered as intrusive elements. In this background, this research aims to examine an association between the level of intrusiveness (a negative visual quality) and the level of visual information. The methodology of this research includes Shannon’s Information Theory based entropy values to measure the level of visual information and the level of intrusiveness is evaluated by conducting a perception survey. The result of the level of visual information is correlated with the road users’ perception to see the association. The findings of the research are, the t-test result shows the outdoor advertising add visual information to the built environment and the correlation analysis depicts a positive correlation between the level of visual information and intrusiveness. Moreover, this research introduces a widely applicable methodology that proves the possibility of employing entropy to measure the visual information and permits advertisers and planners to objectively decide the placement or elimination of outdoor advertising.

Modality of Concrete in Hot and Cold weather

In general, Developing and maintaining world’s facilities to meet the future needs have developing to improve the total well-being. The standard and performance of concrete perform a critical role for most of the facilities including commercial, industrial, and residential and army, public works, and power plants. Concrete sets as the solid hydrates, and is an exothermic response, means it produces heat response goes quickly when the concrete is a hot condition. The primary reason for the concrete's strength and setting time is not the air temperature range but the particular heat range. Varying climate circumstances at a work site cold and hot, windy or relaxed, dry or moist may be considerably different from the best possible conditions believed at sufficient time a concrete mix is specified designed, or selected, or from lab circumstances in which concrete samples are saved and tested. This paper provides the results of a study performed to look at the condition of concrete in hot and cold weather in the construction industry under the climate of Afghanistan.

Content Distribution with Dynamic Migration of Services for Minimum Cost using AES

Content Delivery Networks are the key for today’s internet content delivery. Users are knowingly or unknowingly accessing the CDN via internet. No matter how much the data retrieved by the user it may contain the CDN hand behind every character of text and every pixel of image. CDN came into existence to solve the delay problem. The moment when a user requests for a web page and the response delivered to the corresponding users web browser facing a huge delay. The main goal of this paper is content distribution of web services to multiple data centers placed in different geographical locations and providing security. A content distribution service is a major part of popular Internet applications. In proposed system hybrid clouds are used i.e., both private cloud as well as public cloud. One data center is allocated to each region. Providing security to the data is always an important issue because of the critical nature of the cloud and very large amount of complicated data it carries. To provide security cipher text policy algorithm is used. Authentication technique is used to verify the user authentication. If the user is authorized to access services then and only he receives configuration key to use.

Business Ethics: Tool for Sustainable Business

Ethics involves learning what is right or wrong, and then doing the right thing- but "the right thing" is not nearly as straightforward as conveyed in a great deal of business ethics literature. Most ethical dilemmas in the workplace are not so a simplematter. Philosophers have been discussing ethics for at least 2500 years, since the time of Socrates and Plato. Many ethicists consider emerging ethical beliefs to be "state of the art" legal matters, i.e., what becomes an ethical guideline today is often translated to a law, regulation or rule tomorrow. Values which guide how we ought to behave are considered moral values, e.g., values such as respect, honesty, fairness, responsibility, etc. Statements around how these values are applied are sometimes called moral or ethical principles. Many ethicists assert there's always a right thing to do based on moral principle.and others believe the right thing to do depends on the situation -- ultimately it's up to the individual.
