Analysis of The Relationship of Individual Commitment With Compliance Behavior in Using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs) is one of risks for nurses in the hospital. Several diseases related to the HAIs, such as HIV and hepatitis. Compliance behavior in using PPE is one of prevention to control the hazards. Accident rates in Hospital X Surabaya for patient's body fluid and needle stick injury are 51.1% and 46.7%. Objective: This study was aimed to analyze individual commitment related to a compliance behavior in using personal protective equipment (PPE) on nurses in inpatient installation. Methods: This research was a quantitative with cross sectional study design and observational study. The data were collected on November 2015 with a questionnaire and observation checklist. The total sample technique was used to get the sample (n = 29). Conclusion: The correlation's of age (r =-0.170), sex (r = 0.336), work period (r = 0.051), employment status (r = 0.340), knowledge (r = 0.394), attitude (r = 0.215), individual commitment (r = 0.515), occupation factor (r = 0.378), work shift (r = 0.446). High Commitment caused the increased of the level compliance behavior. Ordinal regression test showed interaction variable of knowledge and individual commitment (p = 0. 000) became influenced variables to compliance behavior in using PPE. Based on the Pseudo R Square, the value of Nagelkerke is 0.483 , it means 48.3% that variables were able to explain variation in compliance behavior in using PPE.
Shear Behavior of Steel I-Beams Strengthened With CFRP Strips

This paper studies the behavior of simply supported steel I-beams strengthened with carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP) strips on the web as shear reinforcement. The experimental program contains seven simply supported steel beams. One of them was considered as a control beam and the other specimens were strengthened with different schemes; varying the position of CFRP strips to the web, its number of layers and its angle of orientation. The results show that applying CFRP strips on the web of the steel I-beams was an effective strengthening method for increasing the load bearing capacity and decreasing the deformations. Using two layers of diagonal CFRP strips on both sides of the web realized the highest increasing in the load capacity. Moreover, finite element analysis method has been utilized to analyze the tested specimens using ANSYS. A great convergence between the experimental results and the corresponding ones obtained from finite element simulation.

The study of factors affecting customer’s satisfaction with the three star hotels in Dubai

Previous studies has supported the relationship between customer satisfaction and customer loyalty. Accordingly, understanding the factors affecting customer satisfaction is very important for those who are involved in hotel industry. Despite the abundant studies conducted on tourist satisfaction there is very little known about the customers satisfaction of Middle East hotels. Filling a part of this gap, the current study attempts to examine factors affecting travelers’ satisfaction of three star hotels in Dubai. Unfortunately the website doesn’t support online booking from any of hotels in Iran, so the comments and reviews on these hotels are not available. On the other hand Dubai has the greatest number of registered hotels in Agoda website, hence this city was chosen as case study. Accordingly comments of travelers on each three star hotel was collected from the Online booking website of Agoda (www.Agoda.com), on October 2015. The study relied on text mining and content analysis of over 2500 online traveller reviews covering 3-star hotels in Dubai. ). The website categorizes the hotels based on the stars and rankings (figure 2) and website only publishes reviews of a hotel from travelers who have booked and paid for a reservation and most probably has stayed in the hotel. The website also provides databases of customer evaluations of their experiences of hotels. This study applied content analysis of the reviews. The collected data was exported into the Nvivo 7 qualitative data analysis software. The comments on each hotel were categorized in terms of positive and negative feedback. Content analysis of collected data revealed that the main factors affecting the tourists’ satisfaction were hotel location, food management , cleanliness, facilities, design and staff behaviors.

A Novel Approach for Compressing Surveillance System Videos

The surveillance systems are expected to record the videos in 24/7 and obviously it requires a huge storage space. Even though the hard disks are cheaper today, the number of CCTV cameras is also vertically increasing in order to boost up security. The video compression techniques is the only better option to reduce required the storage space; however, the existing video compression techniques are not adequate at all for the modern digital surveillance system monitoring as they require huge video streams. In this paper, a novel video compression technique is presented with a critical analysis of the experimental results.

Privacy Preserving Public Auditing and Data Integrity for Secure Cloud Storage Using Third Party Auditor

Using cloud services, anyone can remotely store their data and can have the on-demand high quality applications and services from a shared pool of computing resources, without the burden of local data storage and maintenance. Cloud is a commonplace for storing data as well as sharing of that data. However, preserving the privacy and maintaining integrity of data during public auditing remains to be an open challenge. In this paper, we introducing a third party auditor (TPA), which will keep track of all the files along with their integrity. The task of TPA is to verify the data, so that the user will be worry-free. Verification of data is done on the aggregate authenticators sent by the user and Cloud Service Provider (CSP). For this, we propose a secure cloud storage system which supports privacy-preserving public auditing and blockless data verification over the cloud.

An Improved Web Explorer using Explicit Semantic Similarity with ontology and TF-IDF Approach

The Improved Web Explorer aims at extraction and selection of the best possible hyperlinks and retrieving more accurate search results for the entered search query. The hyperlinks that are more preferable to the entered search query are evaluated by taking into account weighted values of frequencies of words in search string that are present in anchor texts and plain texts available in title and body tags of various hyperlink pages respectively to retrieve relevant hyperlinks from all available links. Then the concept of ontology is used to gain insights of words in search string by finding their hypernyms, hyponyms and synsets to reach to the source and context of the words in search string. The Explicit Semantic Similarity analysis along with Naïve Bayes method is used to find the semantic similarity between lexically different terms using Wikipedia and Google as explicit semantic analysis tools and calculating the probabilities of occurrence of words in anchor and body texts .Vector Space Model is being used to calculate Term frequency and Inverse document frequency values, and then calculate cosine similarities between the entered Search query and extracted relevant hyperlinks to get the most appropriate relevance wise ranked search results to the entered search string.

Evaluation of Solid Medical Waste Management at Public Health Center in Magetan-East Java Province

Public Health Center (PHC) is a technical implementation unit of the District Health Office / City who has responsibility for organizing health development in their working area. Public Health Center produces medical waste from treatment room, general clinic, dental clinic, laboratory, and pharmacy. These medical waste can cause injury and infection for everybody, especially the person who works with the medical waste. This research aimed to evaluate the management of solid medical waste at Public Health Centre in Magetan – East Java. This research is an observational descriptive study. The study was conducted in two inpatient public health centers with PONED in Magetan, namely Karangrejo and Maospati. The sample of each health center is 7 respondents consisting of public health center manager, nurse / midwifery, laboratory officer, pharmacist, two people sanitarian, and 1 janitor. The results showed that from 17 variables were assessed in the management of solid medical waste for public health center Karangrejo obtain a score of 41,17% with a value scale enough. Public health center Maospati obtain a score of 35,29% with a value scale less. Public health center Karangrejo had seven variables that qualified. The variables were resources (quantity personnel, facilities, organization), the variable process of implementation (source of waste, waste minimization and sorting). While Public health center Maospati had 6 variables, namely variable resources (quantity of energy, organization), implementation of the process variable (source of waste, waste minimization, segregation and collection). This results indicate that some variables ratings do not meet the requirements, so the Health Department should conduct training / training management of solid medical waste, by inviting the head of the health center, medical personnel, sanitarian and cleaners (cleaning service). Beside that, they had to taking notes mop reports, complete SOP documents, and budgeting for facilities yet exist. Build commitment at the health center to dosorting well, building a temporary storage area representative, handed external transport stage to the stage of final disposal to a third party who has obtained permission solid medical waste treatment from the Ministry of Environment.
