A Novel Approach for Code Clone Detection Using Hybrid Technique

Code clones have been studied for long, and there is strong evidence that they are a major source of software faults. The copying of code has been studied within software engineering mostly in the area of clone analysis. Software clones are regions of source code which are highly similar; these regions of similarity are called clones, clone classes, or clone pairs In this paper a hybrid approach using metric based technique with the combination of text based technique for detection and reporting of clones is proposed. The Proposed work is divided into two stages selection of potential clones and comparing of potential clones using textual comparison. The proposed technique detects exact clones on the basis of metric match and then by text match.

An Adaptive Hybrid Technique approach of Test Case Prioritization

Test-Case Prioritization is the method to schedule any execution order of the test with the purpose of maximizing some objects like revealing faults early. In this paper we have proposed the hybrid approach for the purpose of the test case prioritization involving Robust Genetic Algorithm to improve the parameters like APSC and execution time. This technique involves robust approach, parent generation, cross-over and mutation over each test-case and then calculates APSC and execution time.

Enhancement of Medical Images using Histogram Based Hybrid Technique

Digital Image Processing is very important area of research. A number of techniques are available for image enhancement of gray scale images as well as color images. They work very efficiently for enhancement of the gray scale as well as color images. Important techniques namely Histogram Equalization, BBHE, RSWHE, RSWHE (recursion=2, gamma=No), AGCWD (Recursion=0, gamma=0) have been used quite frequently for image enhancement. But there are some shortcomings of the present techniques. The major shortcoming is that while enhancement, the brightness of the image deteriorates quite a lot. So there was need for some technique for image enhancement so that while enhancement was done, the brightness of the images does not go down.
To remove this shortcoming, a new hybrid technique namely RESWHE+AGCWD (recursion=2, gamma=0 or 1) was proposed. The results of the proposed technique were compared with the existing techniques. In the present methodology, the brightness did not decrease during image enhancement. So the results and the technique was validated and accepted. The parameters via PSNR, MSE, AMBE etc. are taken for performance evaluation and validation of the proposed technique against the existing techniques which results in better outperform.

Mapping Hydrothermal Mineral Deposits Using PCA and BR Methods in Baft 1:100000 Geological Sheet, Iran

Evaluating the conventional methods for mapping hydrothermal altered deposits by using landsat-8 OLI images in the Baft one to one hundred thousand geological Sheet is the prime target of our study. We used the color composite, band ratio, principal component analysis. The color composite and band ratio methods showed very clearly the hydrothermal altered deposits of clay minerals, iron oxides and ferric oxides around the fumaroles. The principal component analysis also enabled us to represent undoubtedly the altered hydroxyl and iron oxide mineral deposits of this region concentrating around the fumaroles. Finally, the target detection method for reference spectral analysis by using EnvI 4.8 detected the representative hydrothermal altered minerals around study area. Therefore, all the methods showed high efficiency for mapping hydrothermal altered mineral deposits.

SSI Routing Scheme for Heterogeneous MANETs

Studies towards heterogeneous Mobile Adhoc Network (MANET) as well as inter-domain routing is still in much infancy stage. After reviewing the existing literaturs, it was found that problems associated with scalability, interoperability, and security is not defined up to the mark as it should be part of pervasive computing in future networks. Moreover, it was found that existing studies do not consider the complexities associated with heterogeneous MANET to a large extent leading to narrowed research scope. Hence, this paper introduces a novel scheme called as Secure, Scalable and Interoperable (SSI )routing, where a joint algorithm is designed, developed, and implemented. The outcome exhibits the correctness of this scheme by simulation assisted by analysis for inter-domain routing.

Encryption based LSB Steganography Technique for Digital Images and Text Data

Digital steganography is the art and science of hiding communications; a steganographic system thus embeds secret data in public cover media so as not to arouse an eavesdropper’s suspicion. A steganographic system has two main aspects: steganographic capacity and imperceptibility. However, these two characteristics are at odds with each other. Furthermore, it is quite difficult to increase the steganographic capacity and simultaneously maintain the imperceptibility of a steganographic system. Additionally, there are still very limited methods of Steganography to be used with communication protocols, which represent unconventional but promising Steganography mediums. Digital image Steganography, as a method of secret communication, aims to convey a large amount of secret data, relatively to the size of cover image, between communicating parties. Additionally, it aims to avoid the suspicion of non-communicating parties to this kind of communication. Thus, this research addresses and proposes some methods to improve these fundamental aspects of digital image Steganography. Hence, some characteristics and properties of digital images have been employed to increase the steganographic capacity and enhance the stego image quality (imperceptibility). Here, the research aim is identified based on the established definition of the research problem and motivations. Unlike encryption, Steganography hides the very existence of secret information rather than hiding its meaning only. Image based Steganography is the most common system used since digital images are widely used over the Internet and Web. However, the capacity is mostly limited and restricted by the size of cover images. In addition, there is a tradeoff between both steganographic capacity and stego image quality. Therefore, increasing steganographic capacity and enhancing stego image quality are still challenges, and this is exactly our research main aim. To get a high steganographic capacity, novel Steganography methods were proposed. The first method was based on using 8x8 non-overlapping blocks and quantization table for DCT with compression. Second method incorporates the DWT technique, with quality of any stego images as enhanced to get correct hidden image. And last LSB as to store images with Key type security built in.

Effects of Sulfonylurea Herbicides on Protein Content and Antioxidants Activity in Wheat in Semi-Arid Region

Herbicides have been used in the crop field to increase the crop productivity and grain yield. But unfortunately since long back all research papers and articles showed the effect of this herbicide on the non-target organisms. The purpose of this study was to test the toxicity of two herbicides (Sekator and Zoom) on the biochemistry of hard wheat: Triticum durumDesf and common wheat: Triticumaestivum L. The herbicides were applied at tillering stage in the dose full recommendeddoses. After eight days of treatment leaves were collected to determine differentparametersof proteincontent and enzyme activity involved in the antioxidant system (ascorbate peroxidase: APX).The results validated by statistical analysis revealed that there was a highly significant decrease in proteincontent in plant samples treated with the herbicide Zoom in Hidhab variety. By contrast, exposure to the herbicide Sekator causes significant variation in APX activity. Peroxidase activity were significantly decreased in Waha variety but it was significantly increased in Hidhab (HD), and APX activity increased compared with controls in HD treated with Zoom herbicide. The decrease in protein content is an indication of reduction in the growth of the plants leading to a decrease in the yield, while increased level of peroxidase activity pointed to the occurrence of a scavenging mechanism.

Network Security and Privacy in Medium Scale Businesses in Nigeria

Network security consists of the provisions and policies adopted by a network administrator to prevent and monitor unauthorized access, misuse, modification, or denial of a computer network and network-accessible resources. This study investigates a general framework for assessing the security and privacy of current networks. We ask a more general question: what security and privacy mechanisms are available to the medium sized businesses in Nigeria and to what extent have they utilized these mechanisms for the safety of organizational data. The study made use of both primary and secondary data sources. The primary source was a questionnaire administered to a total of 105 medium scale businesses in some of states i, Nigeria. The result showed that medium scale businesses in Nigeria store electronic data to a very high extent but lack the adequate hardware/software to prevent unauthorized access to electronically stored data. However, many of these companies do not have official policy as regards customer data privacy. In cases where they exist, customers are not aware of such policies. This study therefore recommends that government and regulatory bodies should give serious attention to network security and privacy of medium scale businesses in Nigeria. Network security standards should be set for any organization setting up or providing a wireless network. Government should also review existing data privacy laws and ensure that customers are aware of such laws before engaging in any transaction that involves giving aware their personal data to the third party.

Revenue Maximization with Good Quality of Service in Cloud Computing

Cloud computing enables people to use resources and services without implementing them on their systems. Profit and quality of service is the most important factor for service providers and it is mainly determined by the configuration of a cloud service platform under given market demand. Single long term renting scheme is usually adopted to design a cloud platform which leads to resource waste and having more renting charges. The novel double renting scheme which is combination of short term and long term renting is aiming at existing issue. This double renting scheme will effectively and efficiently promises a good quality of service of all request and reduces the resource waste significantly. It also provides services with lower cost compared to short term renting scheme. It uses optimal queuing model to maximize the profit. That means the users can access the services simultaneously. The main objective of proposed system is, to maximize profit of service provider by providing efficient and effective services to user.

Gender Differences in Learners’ Perceptions of an Ideal Primary School

Scholars have reached a consensus that students’ perceptions of learning environments have an important effect on their learning. The influence of physical attributes of educational space on students’ satisfaction has been studied extensively. However, our knowledge about students’ preferences for an ideal school is very limited. The current study is an attempt to address this gap. The sample in the current study consisted of 118students aged 8 -10 years old in the study. Participants were recruited from two public primary schools in Kerman, Iran. The data gathered through semi-structured interviews, and drawings. Quantitative data was analyzed using chi square tests. The findings from the quantitative data were further explored by qualitative data gathered from 14 (seven girls and seven boys) volunteer students.
The study found a significant difference between boy’s and girl’s drawings. Boys portrayed more aerial views and the exterior of the school while girls depicted the frontal views and the interior of their ideal school. In addition, boys incorporated more natural elements, playground equipment and outdoor sport fields in their drawings. In contrast, girls were more likely than boys to use more decorative accessories in their drawings than boys. The result of this study suggests that children’s perceptions about ideal school are gender sensitive. The implications of the study for educational policy makers have been outlined.

Dataset Pre-Processing and Artificial Augmentation, Network Architecture and Training Parameters used in Appropriate Training of Convolutional Neural Networks for Classification Based Computer Vision Applications: A Survey

Training a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) based classifier is dependent on a large number of factors. These factors involve tasks such as aggregation of apt dataset, arriving at a suitable CNN network, processing of the dataset, and selecting the training parameters to arrive at the desired classification results. This review includes pre-processing techniques and dataset augmentation techniques used in various CNN based classification researches. In many classification problems, it is usually observed that the quality of dataset is responsible for proper training of CNN network, and this quality is judged on the basis of variations in data for every class. It is not usual to find such a pre-made dataset due to many natural concerns. Also it is recommended to have a large dataset, which is again not usually made available directly as a dataset. In some cases, the noise present in the dataset may not prove useful for training, while in others, researchers prefer to add noise to certain images to make the network less vulnerable to unwanted variations. Hence, researchers use artificial digital imaging techniques to derive variations in the dataset and clear or add noise. Thus, the presented paper accumulates state-of-the-art works that used the pre-processing and artificial augmentation of dataset before training. The next part to data augmentation is training, which includes proper selection of several parameters and a suitable CNN architecture. This paper also includes such network characteristics, dataset characteristics and training methodologies used in biomedical imaging, vision modules of autonomous driverless cars, and a few general vision based applications.

Analysis & Implementation of Clustering Data Mining Technique - An Approach to Efficient K-means Algorithm

Thousands of techniques are emerging for collecting scientific and real life data on a large scale. The traditional database queering system is available to extract required information. Clustering is one of the important data analysis techniques in data mining. K means are mostly used for many applications. While using basic k means algorithm one may face difficulties in optimizing the results as it is computationally expensive in the terms of iterations. The result of k means is based on selection of initial seed and total number of clusters which depends on the data set. As K means gives variety of results in each run, there is no any thumb rule available for selection of initial seed and the number of clusters. This paper includes approaches to improve the efficiency of k means is mentioned, which provides a better way of selecting the value of k. This approach will result in better clustering with reduced complexity.

Implication of Key Challenges of Talent Management in Recessive Economy

The study investigates the influence of mergers and acquisitions in the integration of business. In our society today organization witnessed the phenomenon they referred as merger-mania. The merger reflects the symbiotic relation while the acquisition mirrors the predator-prey relation. The human influence of it indicates the harder side of merger-phobia that warrant the employee resistance, sabotage, insecurity and high lay-off, faulty integration and dissatisfaction. Because of the inability of the organization to handle the human problems, cultural conflicts and lack of appropriate risk management strategies exert negative influence in the activities. All these problems in effect reduce the productivity of the organization. The study sought to determine the intents that satisfy shareholder in Relation to the M&As Integration Strategies Implementation in the Organization. Secondly, to ascertain the factors that influences M&As Integration in organization. The study made effort to design a satisfactory success measure to achieve effectiveness in M&A’s deal and its integration success. Descriptive survey design was adopted where questionnaire was the key instrument for data collection. A sample of 200 staff and management (respondents) of selected business organization was randomly selected with particular interest with those that had experienced merger and acquisition. The study discovered that the organization was satisfied to the M&A’s integration strategies implementation because it accelerates the transition, define integration strategy, focus on priority initiative, and communication with the stakeholders. The result also revealed that culture conflict, resistance, changing structure, and dissatisfaction are among factors that influence M&A’s integration of business organization. The study recommend that there should be opportunities to establish a comprehensive integration plan/framework that can be designed based on foreseeable challenges and calculated risk of acquisition. Also the organization should endeavour to build a good team –spirited employees that will be supported by a vibrant leader who can move the organization to the next level or sustain the potentials of them.

Comparison of Induction and BLDC motor drives for Hybrid Electric Vehicles

This paper proposes a converter -inverter fed both induction motor and BLDC motor drives which can be used in hybrid electric vehicle or electric vehicle. The advantage of this PWM technique is that by eliminating the zero vectors the switching loss can be reduced. Both motors utilize dc link voltage under varied and constant voltage condition. The simulation of the system had been done using MATLAB/SIMULINK. It can be seen that the THD is relatively less than 5% under both conditions. This technique is feasible for applications which require high efficiency, high power density, low cost. The advantages and disadvantages when both types of motors are used are also seen.

Performance comparison between EEE-Leach and EECCRP in Wireless Sensor Networks

In this paper, we have proposed an energy efficient cooperative communication routing protocol (EECCRP) which is an enhancement over EEE-LEACH protocol. Only two parameters were considered in previous work i.e. energy and distance. EEE-LEACH protocol has some limitations like it used chain based communication, also it does not use any chain formation techniques. Hence low energy nodes in the chain will die sooner thereby breaking the chain and isolating the cluster information from the networks. EECCRP considered three parameters- energy, distance and node density. Energy efficient clustering is being adopted. Hence, this protocol increased the reliability of the network, Reduces the energy consumption of nodes. Adds scalability to the network as chain based topology is not favored for large area network.

A Review on Power Quality Improvement via Custom Power Devices

Power Quality has been said a set of electrical boundaries of the electrical supply provided under normal operating condition that allow equipment to function in its rated condition without significant loss of performance and life expectancy that do not disturb or disrupt the consumers’ process. Performance degradation results when the electrical power supplied to equipment is deficient. Thus power quality improvement is the main concern of present era. The problems of power quality are rising exponentially from the last few decades due to the rising demand for power and the need for their improvement is indeed a big question. The main power quality problems such as voltage sags and swells, power interruptions (short and long), voltage spike, harmonic distortion, noise have led to financial losses. To avoid huge losses and to overcome the above mentioned problems, power electronics has evolved with its new types of devices known as Custom Power Devices which are being reviewed in this paper.

Investigation of the Effect of Pore Size on Mechanical Properties of Open Cell Aluminium Foam Structure

Al foams with different pore size were developed through infiltration process by foundry technology and characterization of the developed Al foams for their density, porosity and compression strength. Al foams were produced through infiltration process by open metal die casting using soil granules of different diameter as space holder particles (SHP). The SHP balls were removed from the Al foam by water jet along with vibration. The density and porosity were measured by theoretically and experimentally. The compression tests were conducted on developed Al foams of different densities using universal testing machine. Developed Al foam density varies from 0.9g/cc to 1.2g/cc, the porosity varies from 54% to 65% and compressive behaviour showed the plateaus stress was directly proportional to SHP ball size in Al foams.

Analysis of Electrical Porcelain Insulators from Local Clays

This paper focused on the chemical analysis of electrical porcelain insulators based on local clays. Test samples were made by conducting some chemical composition test using the Atomic Assumption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The clay samples were also tested for linear shrinkage and apparent porosity. Based on the results obtained, the linear shrinkage values recorded range from 7.29% to 14.29% for Iva Valley formulations, 5.14% to 14.71% for Nawfija and 7.74% to 10.29% for Ekwulobia. It was observed that linear shrinkage decreases as the content of non-plastic materials increases and increases as clay content increases. Iva Valley formulation recorded porosity values ranging from 8.84% to 20.80%. For Nawfija formulation, porosity values range from 10.81% to 17.30% while Ekwulobia formulations gave porosity values ranging from 9.52% to 16.82. Porcelain insulators that constitute the above results were found to have requisite properties that make them suitable for domestic production of porcelains insulators from the clay samples studied.

Application of High-Voltage, Precision, Low-Power Max9943/Max9944 Operational Amplifier in Industrial Process Control Using ±20ma OR 4-20ma Current-Loop Systems

This article explains how to apply a high-voltage, high-current-drive operational amplifier to convert a voltage signal into a ±20mA or 4–20mA current signal for use in process-control industrial applications. The MAX9943 op amp a family of high-voltage amplifiers that offers precision, low drift, and low power consumption device was used as case study]. Experiments are described and test results presented.
Current loops are known for their high immune to noise compare to voltage-modulated signals, a feature that makes it ideal for use in a noisy industrial environment. This signal can travel over a long distance, sending or receiving information from remote locations. A current loop typically includes a sensor, transmitter, receiver, and an ADC or a micro-controller (figure 1). The sensor measures a physical parameters such as pressure or temperature and provides a corresponding output voltage. The transmitter converts the sensor’s output into a proportional 4mA-to-20mA current signal, while the receiver then converts the 4mA-to-20mA current into a voltage signal output. This receiver’s output is then received, interpreted and converts into a digital signal output by an ADC or a micro-controller.
Experiment performed using the relationship the relationship stated in equation 5, shows that if the input voltage level rise above or fall below ±2.5v, the op amp device attains its saturation point and its output voltage can no longer increase. As shown in figure 3, where the curve flatten and no longer follow the ideal linearity characteristics that was supposed.
